Missions

Here's some information about some of the Missionaries that we know and support, through prayer and contributions.

Mikko and Heidi Sivonen (Barnabus, Timothy, and Priscilla) Finland You may remember the Sivonens from our interim period. Mikko was one of several seminary students who filled the pulpit during this period. The Sivonens have been appointed as missionaries to Finland (Suomi), where your Cooperative Program* and Lottie Moon / "March Missions Madness" mission offerings will help to support their ministry. Once a "Christian" nation, Finland has grown spiritually cold. Pray that God will pour out a spiritual awakening upon the Finnish people. Sivonen Sanomat (News) Sept. 2006 Oct. 2006 Nov. 2006 Feb. 2009	Dan and Krista Coyan (Rebekah and Roxie) Czech Republic Dan and Krista were members of our church. They have accepted an appointment by Operation Mobilization to spread the gospel in an unchurched region of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic was under communist rule for decades, and there are few churches, especially in the city of Ceske Budejovice, where the Coyans will be working. The Coyans are supported through private contributions to their ministry. You can help by praying for the Coyans, and also by sending contributions marked "Account COYD205" to: Operation Mobilization, PO Box 444, Tyrone, GA, 30290 Checks should be payable to Operation Mobization. Please pray that the Czech people will be hungry for the word of God, and that Dan and Krista's work will be fruitful. * The Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention enables even small churches to take part in international missions. Contributions are pooled to provide efficiently for Missionaries around the world.

About 1% of cooperative program contributions go for administrative overhead. March Missions and Lottie Moon / Annie Armstrong / S.G.Posey offerings are sent directly to the mission field, with no deductions for overhead.
